Cyril Ngonge: Next Transfer Rumors & Readiness

Cyril Ngonge is once again at an important crossroads in his career. According to transfer journalist Nicolò Schira, the attacker no longer plays an important role in Torino’s plans and a departure during the winter transfer period is a possibility.

Ngonge arrived in Turin last summer on loan from Napoli, with the clear aim of gaining more playing time. That step seemed logical. At Napoli, which attracted him two years ago for approximately twenty million euros, the ex-striker of PSV, RKC and FC Groningen was hardly discussed anymore.

The stiff competition within the selection, and later also the arrival of Noa Lang in his position, further diminished his prospects at Napoli last summer. A move to Torino was supposed to provide a solution, but there too Ngonge gradually disappeared from the starting line-up. In the last five league games he always started on the bench, while his substitute appearances became shorter and shorter.

Although Torino stipulated an option to purchase in the rental deal, it seems increasingly unlikely that this will be exercised. Italian media therefore do not rule out that Ngonge will say goodbye in the winter, six months before the expiry of his rental contract.
