Curry Breaks Jordan’s NBA Record: Historic Milestone

Stephen Curry surpasses Michael Jordan’s record in his NBA comeback, and the Detroit Pistons also reach a milestone.

Stephen Curry was almost unstoppable in his NBA return after a long injury break (thigh bruise). The Golden State Warriors superstar scored 39 points, but it wasn’t enough to win. During Curry’s comeback after a five-game break, the Californians lost 120:127 to the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Since his 30th birthday in spring 2018, Curry has scored at least 35 points in 94 NBA games. The Olympic champion in Paris thus surpassed the record set by legend Michael Jordan, who achieved this in 93 games.

Pistons set record

The Detroit Pistons remain the hottest team in the league behind the Oklahoma City Thunder. The leaders of the Eastern Conference easily won 142:115 against the Atlanta Hawks and thus their fifth game from the last six games. The Pistons set a record.

Led by top scorer Isaiah Stewart (17 points), a total of seven Detroit players scored in double figures, while twelve others scored at least seven points. Only the Milwaukee Bucks in the 2018/19 season and the San Antonio Spurs (2021/22) had previously achieved this. The Pistons improved their record to 20:5 wins, only Oklahoma (24:1) is better in the league.
