Tuesday, October 7, Mr. Mayor of the City of Montpellier, Michaël Delafosse, did us the honor of receiving us for an hour’s interview on the subject of the future renovation project of the Mosson stadium announced last week. Eager to make his project clearly understood, he chose and therefore contacted our media to speak to the hearts of Montpellier supporters.
After having presented in detail the renovation project of the Stade de La Mossonthe first councilor of the city of Montpellier also mentioned the takeover of the women’s section of the Montpellier Hérault Sport Club by Crux Football. “Laurent Nicollin separated from the women’s section and ensured that they were very good buyers. They have a good project for the women’s team in Montpellier. I can tell you, we were all around the table, that the new president of the MHSC Féminines Paul Bouffard, is dynamic and very ambitious. I told him about it with Hervé Martin (sports assistant) that the niches of our amateur clubs for the development of women’s football are more and more numerous. He told us “but it’s great, we’re going to go see”. There are women’s teams in Les Arceaux, Pas du Loup, and Grammont with ASPTT Montpellier. Madame Catherine Carrière, who is a wonderful woman, developed the first women’s section at the ASPTT. There is potential. The buyers are more concerned with providing support and there is a project leader who wants to move forward for women’s sport in Montpellier. So, we take. We found a partner who is ready to take over and who really wants to. And I can assure you… my wife happens to play football at Les Arceaux… there is a real enthusiasm for the game, there is an audience and there we have people who wanted to take over the Montpellier club. This is very good news for Montpellier and it happens on good terms with the Montpellier Hérault Sport Club and they want to continue to do things together.”
Michaël Delafosse continues by explaining that the players from Montpellier Hérault Sport Club Féminines will play their matches at the Stade de La Mosson. “Here we will continue to support women’s football, amateur football and they will also play at the Stade de la Mosson and that is important.”
