we need to emulate each other

The biggest sports event in Croatia was the World Handball Championship, which Croatia hosted from mid-January, together with Denmark and Norway.

That competition brought a silver medal to the Croatian handball players, but also euphoria throughout the country similar to that of successful performances by football players.

Žatika in Poreč, Arena in Varaždin and Arena in Zagreb were the halls where the championship was played, and the Croatian national handball team played all its matches until the finals in Zagreb.

In the group, our neighbors defeated Bahrain (36:22) and Argentina (33:18), but also lost to Egypt (24:28), so they had to play in the second round, where they recorded all the victories.

The Cape Verde Islands (44:25), Iceland (32:26) and Slovenia (29:26) fell in order. In the quarter-finals, they defeated Hungary (31:30) with an incredible finish, and then in the semi-finals, in one of the best matches of Croatian handball players in recent times, they also defeated powerful France (31:28).

In the final in Baerum, Norway, invincible Denmark was better than Croatia with 32:26.

All in all, football, and this year handball in neighboring Croatia is at the top world level.

If we, as Bosnia and Herzegovina, should look up to anyone’s results and successes in sports, then it is definitely Croatia.
