The American professional football team, the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys, once again ranked at the top of the global sports team valuation rankings. In the latest survey published by an American business magazine, Dallas maintained first place for 10 consecutive years, showing off its unrivaled brand value.
In this evaluation, Dallas was valued at $13 billion. This is a significant increase from last year, and is an unrivaled scale for a single club. As a result, Dallas has maintained its position as the world’s most valuable sports team every year since 2016.
The NBA Golden State Warriors ranked second. Golden State was valued at $11 billion, surpassing the $10 billion mark for the first time. Next, a total of five teams, including the NFL LA Rams and New York Giants, and the NBA LA Lakers, formed the top ranking with a value of more than $10 billion. Until last year, Dallas was the only team that exceeded $10 billion, but this year, the value of the entire top ranking has soared.

Looking at each sport, the NFL’s strength stands out. Many NFL teams were included in the top 10, and even when the range was expanded to 50th, NFL teams accounted for the largest proportion. The NBA also showed a steady presence, but MLB and soccer teams lagged relatively behind.
In baseball, the New York Yankees were ranked the highest and tied for 10th place. Among clubs outside the United States, Spanish professional soccer team Real Madrid was rated the highest and took the top spot among soccer clubs. In sports other than soccer, Formula One team Ferrari was included in the top rankings.
Even when looking at the average team value, the NFL is by far ahead. The average value of NFL teams significantly exceeded that of other sports, followed by the NBA. The influence of North American professional sports has once again been proven numerically as traditional popularity, broadcasting rights revenue, and market size come together.
These results show how important brand and market power are in the sports industry, independent of simple performance. Dallas’ 10th consecutive year of first place will remain a symbolic milestone that will not be easily broken for the time being.
