The national delegation played the twentieth South American event for adults and the twenty-first at the youth level at home. A large team led by Juliana Giraldo, Bolivarian runner-up, arrived in Bucaramanga looking to take the most metals.
Seniors
Colombian Juliana Giraldo led the medal haul by winning the gold medal in the women’s category. Juliana had several duels against the best on the continent, but she knew how to stand out and win the title on a podium that had Peru with the silver medal and the two bronze medals.
In the women’s doubles, Juliana played alongside Karen Patiño to win the silver medal in a long tournament of triumphs, losing in the grand final against Miyahira Namie and Sofia Vasquez from Peru. The bronze medals went to Brazil and Peru. Additionally, Juliana won bronze in the mixed doubles when playing alongside Jerónimo Giraldo, in which Peru took gold.
In the team event, Colombia took the bronze medal after one win and two losses. Colombia defeated Chile, but succumbed to Peru and Brazil, who won gold and silver respectively.
In the senior men’s events, no Colombian was on the podium, which was totally dominated by Brazil in both singles and doubles, winning 7 of the 8 medals disputed.
Juveniles
In the men’s Under 13 category, Colombian David Alzate comfortably won all of his group stage and playoff games, reaching the final without giving up a set and beating Brazilian Davi Haigert 21-9 and 21-6. Likewise, in the female branch, the Colombian Elizabeth Hernández won the bronze medal after a good tournament in the group stage and playoffs, falling in the semifinals against the Peruvian Micaela Campos, runner-up of the tournament.
Jerónimo Giraldo also got on the podium in the men’s Under 17 category, winning several difficult games and losing in the semifinals to Brazilian Lucas Pinto, who took the silver medal. The gold went to Peru.

In the men’s doubles events, Colombia won bronze in the Sub 11 with Pedro Vásquez and Samuel Muñoz, bronze in the Sub 13 with Jan Villabona and Jeronimo Garcia, and bronze in the Sub 17 with Jerson Saucedo and Nicolás Molina. In the women’s doubles, metals also came with Antonia Giraldo and Elizabeth Hernández in the Sub 13, and Laura Trujillo and Nicol Arce in the Sub 15 category, both being bronze. In the mixed doubles, the last metals came with gold and bronze in the Sub 13, with the gold for David Alzate and Antonia Giraldo, and silver in the Sub 17 with Josue Zapata and Melissa Vélez.
Finally, in the team events, Colombia took three metals. The gold medal came from the Under 13 team by beating Chile, Peru, and Brazil. For their part, the Under 15 and Under 19 teams finished with the bronze medal, where Brazil and Peru won gold and silver respectively.
Colombia culminated the event with a total of 4 medals in the senior categories (1 gold, 1 silver, and 2 bronze), while there were 14 medals in the youth categories (3 gold, 1 silver, and 10 bronze), for a total of 18 medals. Peru took the largest amount of metals with more than 40.
