Steven Gerrard hopes that Arne Slot will be able to turn the tide at Liverpool. At the same time, the former midfielder also cherishes the dream of one day returning to Anfield. The club legend makes no secret of the fact that he would like to see himself at the helm of ‘his’ club in the future.
“Yes, I dream of being Liverpool manager one day,” Gerrard told TNT Sports. “To be honest, I would like to help Liverpool in any way I can, in any role. I don’t want the Liverpool manager to fail. I want Slot to turn things around and make Liverpool great again. But if the club needs me, I will be there.”
Gerrard’s name came up recent still in the corridors when there was unrest around Slot, who was having a hard time at Anfield. However, peace now seems to have returned. The Dutchman managed to get on the same page again, made up with Mohamed Salah and saw Liverpool win their last three games.
Gerrard is considered one of the greatest club icons in Liverpool history. The former midfielder played no fewer than 710 official matches for the club.
