Claudio Cianchetti Death: Trentino Football Mourns Legend

TRENTO. A few days away from death of Bruno Baveni (Article here), historic coach of Trento and protagonist of two promotions from series C2 to C1, both of which arrived after as many play-offs who have entered the history of the yellow-blue club, the world of Trentino football mourns another passing away.

Claudio Cianchetti, one of the protagonists of the historic victory in the play-off in Verona against Padova on 13 June 1980 which ended in penalty kicks after a “legendary” match, he passed away at the age of 71.

Originally from Monte San Giovanni Campanoin the province of Frosinone, the Lazio left back with strong offensive skills and a particular feeling with the goal, dressed the Trento shirt for two seasons, from 1979 to 1981, totaling over 60 appearances and scoring an impressive 14 goalsa loot exceptional for a defender.

The left-handed player from Frosinone had a long career: before arriving in Trento he had worn the d shirtthe Reggiana, Pisa, Ravenna, Olbia and Carrarese and, having finished his experience in yellow-blue, he played with Fano, Teramo, Cattolica, Salernitana and Sassuolo.

Trento Calcio remembered him with an official note, expressing condolences to his family.
