Phil Foden still can’t believe it. When scoring Manchester City’s third goal in the victory against Sunderland (3-0), the Englishman immediately pointed, hilariously, to his partner Rayan Cherki.
And for good reason. The Frenchman delivered a sumptuous caviar with a cross with a scarf shot after playing his defender. An offering well taken by Foden with a header to complete the success of the Citizens.
Before that, the former OL leader had already been the author of an assist on Rúben Dias’ opener. Even if for this goal, the credit goes mainly to the Portuguese author of a powerful strike.
In the meantime, it was Josko Gvardiol who scored the second goal for Pep Guardiola’s players, on an assist from Foden.
Thanks to this success, Manchester City returns to just two points behind Arsenal, beaten earlier in the day by Aston Villa (2-1). This will perhaps give City more confidence ahead of two difficult trips next week, to Real Madrid and Crystal Palace.
