Cellier Ligné: First Leg Results & Table Standings

For the last match of the first phase of the French Interclub Championship, National 2, the Clubbers of Cellier Ligné Union Badminton were traveling on Saturday December 13 in Tours. Faced with a Touraine team, certainly last, but solid and homogeneous, the two teams finally parted in a draw 4 – 4. A logical result given the confrontations.

The Tours team notably featured Bastien Delaval, who won in singles for his first appearance of the season. This player is well known to Clubbers, since Le Cellier Ligné encountered him in 2016 during the Nationale 3 play-offs, when he was ranked French n°36 in singles. The rest of the matches took place without any real surprises compared to the match sheet, each team knew how to enforce the hierarchy, in a committed and balanced confrontation until the end.

On the CLUB side, several strong signals should be highlighted. The mixed pair Justine Pottier and Fabien Retière remain undefeated since the start of the season, confirming their regularity and solidity. The young Thomas Tournefier also continued his flawless career in the men’s singles, winning once again and asserting his role as a sporting pillar of the team. He also won in the mixed doubles with Lisa Montiège.

Thanks to this draw and the defensive bonus won, the Clubbers leave Tours with valuable points for the rest of the championship. Le Cellier Ligné finished this first leg third, in the fight for the podium, in a group that was tighter than ever. For the next deadline, the Clubbers will meet their audience for the resumption of the championship and the start of the return phase on Saturday January 17, 2026 at 3:45 p.m. against Blois Badminton Club (second) at the Édouard Landrain sports complex in Ligné.
