The Democratic Republic of Congo undoubtedly already has its eyes fixed on the month of March and the intercontinental play-offs for the 2026 World Cup, but it must not disperse. From this Tuesday, the Congolese begin a vital competition, the African Cup of Nations, which can give them essential confidence.
The Leopards above all have a semi-final to defend. Beaten by Ivory Coast then by South Africa during the match for 3rd place, they are aiming at least for the last four this year in Morocco. The dream of a title, as in 1968 and 1974, is however not completely unattainable. Especially since group D, in which the Congolese have been placed, is affordable with Senegal, Benin and Botswana.
The African Cup of Nations of the Democratic Republic of Congo begins this Tuesday, December 23 at 1:30 p.m. against Benin at the Al Barid stadium in Rabat. The Congolese will then face Saturday December 27 at 4 p.m. in Tangier before returning to Rabat for the last match of the group stage against Botswana on Tuesday December 30 at 8 p.m.
