We know the 22 players in the clash of the first day of Group F of the African Cup of Nations (CAN) which will be played this Wednesday at 9 p.m. between Cameroon and Gabon.
If Gabon will evolve, as planned, without its leader Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, injured with Olympique de Marseille, Cameroon will present an experimental team and in a tense context.
The compositions
Cameroon: Epassy – Tchamadeu, Tolo, Yongwa, Kotto, Malone – Avom Ebong, Baleba – Mbeumo, Namaso, Etta Eyong.
Gabon : Mbaba – Ecuele Manga, Oyono, Moucketou-Moussounda, It’s written Ee – Bocoum, Poko, Ndong, Averlant – Openda, Bouanga.
Five-time winner of the event, the last time in 2017, Cameroon approaches the tournament with many unknowns and a new coach. David Pagou was in fact appointed only three weeks ago following the dismissal of Marc Brys by Samuel Eto’o, president of the federation.
Pagou, who had decided to deprive himself of many executives (André Onana, Michael Ngadeu, Vincent Aboubakar), placed his trust in a new generation led in particular by Bryan Mbeumo.
A revelation in the Premier League last year with 20 goals and 8 assists in the colors of Brentford, the striker now plays for Manchester United.
