The image is terrifying, chilling. In an innocuous action during the match on the 15th day of the Bundesliga, the German football championship, played on Saturday between Hamburg and Frankfurt, two players, Miro Muheim (Hamburg) and Rasmus Kristensen (Frankfurt), collided without seeing each other. The shock is violent. The two opponents find themselves on the ground but Kristensen quickly falls into convulsions.
Although located a few meters from the action, Luka Vuskovic reacted immediately. He rushes towards the Dane to see if he is conscious and to make sure his tongue is not obstructing breathing.
Despite his young age (18 years old), Vuskovic has the right reflex and does not hesitate to put his fingers in Kristensen’s mouth to hold his tongue and putting him in a side safety position before the arrival of the trainers.
A gesture from the young Croatian international probably saved the life of the Dane who was replaced as a precaution. The player, on loan from Tottenham to Hamburg, was logically rewarded with the fair play award for the 15th day of the Bundesliga. A very meager reward compared to his heroic gesture.
