3rd place: Wouter Burger (TSG Hoffenheim)
One of the biggest surprises of the season so far is without a doubt TSG Hoffenheim. Under coach Christian Ilzer, TSG has found its way in terms of sport despite internal power struggles. One of those responsible for the upswing is Wouter Burger. The 24-year-old was brought in from Stoke City for four million euros and was supposed to make Anton Stach (27), among others, forgotten at TSG.
The Dutchman more than succeeded. Initially deployed more defensively, Burger has been providing important impetus on the eight ball for a few weeks now. Together with Fisnik Asllani (23), the midfielder is the top scorer in Sinsheim. In 16 competitive games he has already contributed four goals and six assists. The pass security coupled with his defensive duel strength secure Burger a place in the top 3.
Platz 2: Aleix García (Bayer Leverkusen)
Who will follow in Granit Xhaka’s (33) footsteps? Many Bayer Leverkusen fans asked themselves this question before the season. It is now clear that the departure was compensated internally. Because while Aleix García was a bit strange in his first season under the Bayer Kreuz and was looking for his place, the Spaniard has now long since matured into a leading player.
As a pacesetter, he has taken on Xhaka’s somewhat more defensive role since this season and directs the game like the Swiss once did. It also took García a while to get started in the season. Coach Kasper Hjulmand trusts the 28-year-old blindly and is rewarded for it. Since the eighth matchday, García has not only impressed as a passing machine, but also as a direct provider. There are already four assists to the account of the second-best six in the first half of the season.
1st place: Joshua Kimmich (FC Bayern)

So far this season there is no getting around Joshua Kimmich. All praise has already been written about the captain of the German national team; Kimmich has been impressing with his extraordinary presence on the pitch for many years. As the leader of the all-powerful FC Bayern, Kimmich is once again regularly breaking down the defensive chains with his chip balls this season.
Recently, Kimmich had to fight with minor injuries from time to time, and coach Vincent Kompany occasionally left his best six on the bench to protect him. When he is on the pitch, Kimmich continues to take Munich to another level. With one goal and four assists, the 30-year-old was the best six in the Bundesliga before the winter break and contributed to the fact that the championship for FCB now seems just a formality.
