Brest Tech Park: New Sports & Living Complex Planned

Simply the Brest, the former Squash club of Brest, currently located on rue Hoche, will realize a new project : and sports complex and living space at the heart of Brest Iroise technology park.

The project leaders, Arthur Moineau, former high-level athlete and manager of Simply the Brest, Briag Isambard, director of the Squash club association of Brest, Tony Bougaran, architect and co-manager of Cap architecture, Fabien Mahé, director of Onésime landscape, want to build “a large-scale sports equipmentand a sporting and social living space accessible to allopen seven days a week.

An investment amounted to 4.70 million euros.

This future 3,700 m² complex will be located at the intersection of rue Graham-Bell and the route de Sainte-Anne-du-Portzic, on a plot of land of 4,100 m².2. It will include seven courts fell four of badmintonand four of squash a space of restoration(“local, healthy and accessible to all, even without practicing sports”) and boutique of the changing roomswith multipurpose rooma modular and scalable areaa car park with 40 spaces.

A diversified range of activities

“Beyond padel, squash and badminton, the complex will offer pickleballof interactive golfbut also danseof yogaof pilatesof fitnessof the boxing …in the multipurpose room, outdoor spaces and a playground », explain the project leaders.

Who say they thought of Simply the Brest “as a real place to live, to host seminars, workshops, outdoor tavern and outdoor games, promoting intergenerational encounters.

An ecological commitment

Tony Bougaran, from Cap architecture, specifies that “the structure, made of concrete with a wood and polycarbonate envelope, will have a south-facing roof equipped with a photovoltaic power plant and a belvedere terrace for convivial moments”.

He notes that “the project stands out for its solutions durables» with green roof, solar panels, rainwater harvesting, LED lighting, bicycle parking, electric terminals, edible garden, zero waste approach and short circuit.

The openingof this complex is planned for second semestre 2027.

This is the winning file of thecall for projects(seven applications in total) open to local, regional and national supporters, launched in April by Brest metropolis development (who will accompany it), on behalf of Brest Métropole, as part of an approach aimed at strengthening the sporting offer and creating a new living space within the Technopôle Brest Iroise.
