Rafael Guanaes, elected best coach of Brasileirão 2025, after a historic campaign at Mirassol, which finished in fourth place and qualified for the Libertadores, is the choice of those responsible for Mengão.

The Italian, son of Brazilian coach Carlo Ancelotti, informed Botafogo that he did not intend to continue, after learning that the stove had fired Luca Guerra (physical trainer). The Italian stated that he would only stay if the entire technical team continued, something that Botafogo denied.
