O Botafogo went up more National Club Ranking and CBF. If in the 2025 list the club advanced six positions and went to eighth, in the 2026 ranking it was its turn to go to seventh, in the new order released by the entity this Wednesday (12/24).
In the national season, Botafogo had a merely reasonable campaign, with sixth place in the Brazilian Championship and advance to the quarterfinals of Brazilian Cuptotaling 172 points.
Flamengo remains in the lead, with Corinthians taking second place, overtaking Palmeiras and São Paulo. Atlético-MG completes the Top 5.
What is the CBF Ranking for?
The CBF ranking is calculated based on the last five years and considers all national competitions. It serves to determine the draw for the Copa do Brasil, in addition to determining which clubs participate in national grassroots tournaments. According to the new regulations, Botafogo will enter directly into the fifth phase of the Copa do Brasil.
