Botafogo: Ancelotti Departs, New Coach Search Begins

Davide Ancelotti is no longer the technician Botafogo. The information was announced by the Rio club on Wednesday night (17).

The Italian coach had a contract with Glorioso until the end of 2026. However, as he did not agree with the dismissal of his physical trainer, he opted to leave by mutual agreement.

According to the ESPNthe decision was taken at a friendly meeting held between the parties on Wednesday afternoon.

The black and white board of directors had already opted to dismiss physical trainer Luca Guerra, as his work was the target of internal criticism at the club. The understanding is that Botafogo could not have another year with as many injuries as they suffered in 2025.

Therefore, in addition to Davide Ancelotti and Luca Guerra, assistants Luis Tevenet and Andrew Mangan also do not continue at Glorioso.

With that, Davide says goodbye to Botafogo with 32 games, 14 victories, 11 draws and seven defeats.
