The draw for the quarter- and semi-finals of the women’s Portuguese Cup took place this Wednesday in Cidade do Futebol. Benfica, five-time national champions, will face Torreense, away from home, in a repeat of the final of the last edition of the premier competition, which smiled on the Torres Vedras team.
FC Porto will face a first-tier team – winner of the duel between Marítimo and Valadares Gaia, as a visitor. The draw also dictated the meetings between Vitória de Guimarães (I) and Famalicão (II) and SC Braga (I) and Rio Ave (I). The quarter-final games are scheduled for January 17/18.
In the semi-finals, the winner of Vitória de Guimarães-Famalicão will face Marítimo/Valadares or FC Porto, and the winner of the clash between SC Braga, who defeated Sporting in the round of 16, and Rio Ave will face Torreense or Benfica. The semi-finals will be played over two legs: February 4th and March 18th.
A classic between FC Porto and Benfica, the first in women’s football, is postponed until a possible final, scheduled for May 16/17.
