Benfica & Sporting: Youth League Opponents Confirmed

Benfica and Sporting already know their next opponents in the round of 32 of the Youth League: the eagles will face Slavia Prague, from Czechia, while the lions travel to Hungary to face Puskás Akadémia.

The duel with Slavia, known this Friday in the draw held at the UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland, is scheduled for the 3rd or 4th of February, at the Benfica Campus, in Seixal.

The Eagles team reaches the round of 32 after achieving seed status and having achieved second place in the league phase of the competition, the result of five victories in six games — Qarabag (7-1), Chelsea (2-5), Newcastle (5-1), Leverkusen (5-0), Ajax (4-0) and Napoli (3-0).

Slavia Prague finished the League phase in 20th place in the league table, with two wins, two draws and two defeats.

Sporting finished the league phase of the competition in 12th place, with three wins and three draws — Kairat Almaty (3-2), Naples (1-1), Marseille (2-1), Juventus (2-2), Brugge (2-1) and Bayern (3-3).
