The cover of the postponements is taken by Benevento, who overwhelms Salernitana beyond all expectations (5-1) and overtakes them, isolating themselves in second place in pursuit of Catania (ahead by two points). Floro Flores’ choice to switch to a back four was rewarded, despite the risks taken in the first quarter of an hour when Salernitana hit the woodwork twice. Capomaggio replies to Pierozzi’s lead (goal confirmed after a long consultation with FVS), then Benevento becomes master of the field and extends before the break with Tumminello’s 2-1 and the hat trick on an own goal from Capomaggio himself; in the second half there was poker with a brace from the rediscovered Tumminello (Salvemini’s replacement at the center of the attack) and a five scored by Lamesta.

Giuseppe Raffaele’s team ends dazed and booed by the 1400 fans following, while Vigorito’s law is confirmed: six victories and a draw for Benevento in their stadium (while there were four away defeats). The other two groups were also played. In group A, between Cittadella and Brescia everything happens in the last quarter of an hour and the draw obviously smiles on Vicenza who now has a 12 point advantage over the second ones (Brescia and Lecco). Two substitutes scored: Rabbi was replaced by the great ex Luca Vido who was fully recovered. If Cittadella fails to achieve their eighth victory in a row, Aimo Diana’s team has not won in four games. Vis Pesaro-Ascoli also ends up tied: former Stellone’s Vis goes ahead with Vezzoni’s diagonal, then Ndoj equalizes following a corner development but Ascoli thus sees the top pair (Arezzo and Ravenna) move away, now nine points away.
