The season of Michy Batshuayi at Eintracht Frankfurt is quite catastrophic. Starting only once in the Bundesliga, the Red Devil was only allowed to enter the game on 5 occasions and when he had just scored his first goal of the season in the league (against Wolfsburg on 11/30), he was injured.
A situation that could have improved: Elye Wahi, one of his competitors at the forefront of the Frankfurt attack, should leave the club. According to Foot Mercato, the French striker, who is not having a great season either (no goals in the Bundesliga), would have given his agreement to OGC Nice.
Osula, Batshuayi’s new competitor?
Enough to return to a real No. 2 role for Michy Batshuayi and be assured of getting into the game more often? Not necessarily: depending Sky GermanyEintracht Frankfurt should directly bring in offensive reinforcement.
The German club is in fact discussing with Newcastle United in order to obtain the loan with option to purchase William Osula, a 22-year-old Danish striker lacking playing time in England and who is returning from a malleolus injury.
It remains to be seen whether these musical chairs will also concern Michy Batshuayi: the Red Devil, who seems to have inexorably slipped out of Rudi Garcia’s plans, will really need playing time (and goals) if he wants to go to the World Cup…
