Mestre (Gemini Mestre – Basket Torino 74-69) – The positive streak of victories for Reale Mutua Basket Torino comes to an end at the “Taliercio”: after six consecutive successes, the first round of the Gialloblù ends with an away stop at the hands of Gemini Mestre, who of the three newly promoted teams are undoubtedly the most productive and confident, managing to deservedly win what is the third victory in a row after the important successes with Verona and Livorno. A tough challenge for Torino, which, as happened in the recent away game in Cremona, was unable to produce offensively at the level of the latest performances offered within friendly walls. Unlike the victory in Cremona however, character and defense were not enough to snatch the victory. Thanks to too many inattentions on the rebound, with 15 extra possessions granted to the opponents, Reale Mutua had to chase for large stretches, but still managed to stay in the game thanks to an excellent performance from Allen (20 points) and Massone (19 points) to come back from two important pushes from Mestre (who had also reached +16), but without finding the flash to complete the overtaking at the end. Final result 74-69, Turin therefore not finishing the first half of the season as it wanted but can still keep its head high, with the balance remaining positive at the halfway point (10 wins in 19 games) and the second half of the season which opens next Sunday at home against Rimini.
