Baník Goalkeeper Reacts to Thrilling Match

Holec is currently enjoying a vacation on the west coast of the United States. During his visit to San Francisco, he visited the Chase Center and met the four-time NBA champion. “I just met Steph Curry! I’ll never forget it. I still can’t believe it happened,” the emotional Slovakian goalkeeper described on his Instagram.

“Thanks to my secret Santa, I had the best day of my life! I’m having a hard time finding words,” admitted the former goalkeeper of Sparta Prague or Karviná.

It was during his engagement in Silesia that Holec confided his love for the team from San Francisco in an interview for the club’s website. “I have enjoyed basketball for many years, the NBA is mine. I have been a fan of the Golden State Warriors ever since Stephen Curry was drafted by this club,” said the 31-year-old goalkeeper at the time.

However, the Olympic champion from Paris was not the only famous basketball player that the Ostrava goalkeeper came across that day. The native of České Budějovice also met Gary Payton, one of the best defenders in the overseas competition ever. “A great player, and an even better person,” wrote an enthusiastic Holec.

A dream come true for a goalie who, outside of the Czech league, also worked in Slovakia and Poland, also deepened Curry’s performance. The best 3-pointer in NBA history struggled in the first half against Orlando, but scored 18 of his 26 points in the second half to lead the Warriors to a comfortable 120-97 victory.

The boy, like the entire Baník, is not having a good season. From a spring phantom between the posts, he became a substitute for several matches during the autumn. He kept only two clean sheets in fifteen starts, which means a significant drop compared to seven out of seventeen games in the spring. Will Holc be able to kick up his form and help pull Baník out of the downward spiral? All that remains is to wait until the first of February, when the Ostravas play a key duel on the ground of the last Slovak.
