Badminton: Wins, Losses & a Lesson Learned

Small Lessons from Badminton

Today I found myself playing some fantastic Badminton. The shots the smashes the drops the wins, it was all going well. So well, that after winning one point, I flung the racket in the air and it landed on the first floor terrace of the house next door 😄

Good part is that I carry another racket with me, but this racket is a tad bit heavier, with not the best of strings and I’ve been avoiding using the racket for the same reason. This one small change changed my game. Suddenly reflexes were not as good, hand wasn’t swinging like it would, and when you start missing a few easy points, your cofidence also drops.

Few gms of weight and few lbs of string tension is all that separated the two rackets from each other, and yet it made a difference. For long in life I’ve been a believer of small things making a large difference and how every small thing adds up to something bigger over time.

Focus on the small inputs, small improvements, small somethings, to move the big things in life. Small or invisible as it may be, it does make a difference after all 🙂
