Badminton Pre-National: Amiens Performance Review

It is not a victory strictly speaking, but it is nonetheless a small one for the residents of Amiens UC Badminton who, despite the defeat, carried out a good operation by pocketing the defensive bonus against Liancourt-Clermont.

Almost a cathedral atmosphere at the start of the game this Sunday morning at the Auguste Janvier gymnasium. And for good reason, the 6 other teams were also in interclubs all over Hauts-de-France. But the AUC Badminton flag team was able to count on its loyal supporters to warm up the atmosphere throughout the meeting, where the Amiens managed to give the best of themselves to snatch a precious defensive bonus.

In mixed doubles 2, Thomas Binois and Marie Lasquellec (R5/R4) were trying to find their mark in a one-sided first round for the benefit of Abts/Ully (N3) (12-21). In the second, they managed to compete better in the game and in the score (9-11), but struggled more in the second part of the set and finally lost (13-19, 0-1 for Liancourt). On the second ground, Léo Crépin and Marion Uguen (N2/N3) were engaged in a great battle against Doucoure/Poujol (N2). If they conceded the first set (17-21), the Amiens recovered perfectly (21-18) before concluding without flinching, this time, in the money-time (21-19; 1-1).

Not an easy encounter…

On the right track, the Samarians did not get off to the best possible start, with the almost logical defeat ofOphélie be Goro (r4) facing Léonie Ferrand (N2) in two rounds (11-21, 14-21; 1-2)followed by that of Thomas Binois (N3) facing Alexis Poujol (N2)at the end of a good resistance, but where the Amiens will have, in part, fished physically (18-21, 10-21; 1-3). In men’s singles 1, despite disputed points, Yvon Crépelle (N2) lowered the flag in front of the Belgian Birger Abts (N2) on the score of 6-21, 12-21 (1-4)just like Marie Lasquellec (R4) in women’s singles 2 facing Mélissa Poujol (N3)who saw himself defeated 9-21, 8-21 (1-5).

… but doubles which ensure

At the end of the match, the Amiens regained momentum, thanks to the victory ofOperie Bureron and Marion Ugue (N3) on Ferrand/Ully (N2/N3). At the end of a match of great beauty, which remained undecided for a long time between the four protagonists (11-21, 21-17, 21-17; 2-5). A success which made it possible to relaunch the Amiens in their quest for a defensive bonus, and which was also followed by a great victory in the men’s doubles, where Léo Crépin and Yvon Crépelle (N2) were imposed in the face of Doucouré/Poujol (N2/N3) in two rounds (21-17, 26-24; 3-5)and offering the Samarians the long-awaited bonus.
