Leerdam – Not many opponents have managed to beat BC Iduna in the Galgenwaard this season, and BC Leerdam also failed to do so.
The Leerdam players were too bothered by the high ceiling, which made the timing of hitting different. Edwin de Weerd was missing because he became the father of twins this week.
Difficult
The men’s doubles of Jelmer Agema and Mats van ‘t Pad were difficult. They managed to pull off a three-setter, but the double was lost due to too many mistakes on the Leerdam side.
The women’s doubles had the same course as the men’s doubles, but Sherena Vink and Meltem van ‘t Pad managed to win the third set.
Lost
BC Iduna’s home advantage was clearly evident in the singles matches. This season not many singles matches have been lost on the Leerdam side, but today all four singles matches were lost.
The two mixed parties had a different course. A mixed game often does not have rallies with high-hit shuttles, but rallies with tight and short play. Both the mix of Jelmer Agema and Sherena Vink and the mix of Mats van ‘t Pad and Meltem Roozen were easily won in two sets.
This made the final score 5-3. BC Leerdam is still well in the lead.
On Saturday, December 20, BC Leerdam will play its home match against BC Thiela
