Between the multiple French champion (8 titles), Chambly, and a FIB team which had just reached the Top 12 for the first time in its historyit was the fight between the earthen pot and the iron pot, this Saturday, in the Oise. In the end, if one of the flagship teams of the elite clearly won, 7-1, the Bretillians were not ridiculous, as Bastian Kersaudy admitted: We weren’t favorites, we still held on.
The match began with the two mixed doubles. If the scores are quite average, 21-15, 21-17, to my disadvantage with Herveline Crespel then 21-10, 10-15, to the detriment of Erwin Kehlhoffner and Lily Gautier, we displayed a good level of play
Bastian Kersaudy is satisfied. Even if the logic was respected, we were not ridiculous. We fought with our weapons, that remains positive.
Keeping the positive from this first half of the season
The women’s singles then continued, with the only point of the match reported by Inès Villard for the FIB. She was a bit of a favorite against Elsa Danckers, and brought home the only victory of the day to save the honor (21-16, 19-21, 18-21). For her part, Carla Dubois faced a world-class player, Michelle Li, and produced a good performance despite the defeat (21-16, 21-15)which allowed him to gain experience.
The men’s singles proved much more difficult to negotiate, especially for the Rennes number 1. Raphaël Chenu experienced a little slack, a complicated match lost 21-10, 21-5. On the other hand, Erwin (Kehlhoffner) could have pushed his opponent to the third set, but lost (21-14, 24-22).
To conclude, the women’s and men’s doubles did not turn in favor of the FIB, despite good resistance from the women, (21-16, 18-21, 21-14), while the men suffered, (21-10, 21-15). Against two European level players, Herveline and Lily did better than defend themselves, while with Raphaël, we were not unworthy

This trip to Chambly puts an end to the first leg with three defeats and two victories on the clock. We only keep the positive from this first half of the season
