Cuxhaven. As always in previous years during Advent, we have just held our ribbon tournament for the badminton department, and again in a well-filled BBS hall, so that the best in the club can compete among the adults in a happy and relaxed atmosphere. The player pairings are not drawn according to the ranking list, but rather randomly – well, the luck of the draw is helped so that the oldest player doesn’t end up with number 1. The tournament will once again be led by proven volunteers and prepared by hard-working ladies for the physical well-being.

This time, timed games will be played again as usual, mostly as mixed doubles and not in sets as usual. After everyone starts together on all fields, the final whistle blows after seven minutes and the winners receive a ribbon made of decorative ribbon on the shaft of their bat. After six of these badminton games, the players with the most ribbons in this tournament win. This time it’s Finn Kornau, pictured here, as the only player with ribbons won from all individual games. Here he is currently choosing his prize. All other teammates will also receive a gift as a small thank you for their training and match commitment over the past year.

Afterwards, at the self-made buffet with some drinks, all the events of the evening and probably also of the 2025 game year were thoroughly discussed and chewed over.

By the way, the young athletes didn’t miss out – they have already completed a sporty and happy afternoon of bowling these days.
