Badminton: Argentan Secures Nationale 2 Spot – Win & Update

Initially planned at home, the 5th day of interclubs Nationale 2 finally took place in Maisons-Laffitte (Yvelines), the opponents having requested a reversal of the calendar. It is with the wish to take points against a direct opponent for maintaining that Bayard Argentan badminton (Baba) went to the Paris region.

The women’s singles were quickly won by Eugenie Guerder et Nina Lourghi facing opponents who came to “make up the numbers” in the absence of a foreign player.

Maxima Renault et Marco Marie hit the nail on the head in a double man, bringing back a third entry point for the Baba.

Zoe Chauvel made his return to N2 after a long absence alongside Celia Lourghi in women’s doubles. The girls bowed.

As a simple man, Arthur Shanmugarajah was forced to retire due to injury while Paul Tocqueville logically won his match.

4th with five points ahead of the relegation zone

Before the last two mixed doubles, the score was 4-2 for the Argentanais. Eugénie Guerder and Maxime Renault lost to better ranked opponents. It was the pair Nina Lourghi / Marco Marie who came to deliver the pennant team by winning their match. Final score: 5 – 3 for Bayard!

At mid-season, the team ranks 4th out of 6 with 5 points ahead of the relegation zone. The next meeting will take place on January 17 in Orléans (Loiret).
