Arsenal appeared to dominate by releasing 17 shots (5 on target) and 70 percent possession of the ball. The home team’s statistics are far superior to Wolves, who only made 3 shots (2 on target) and had 30 percent ball possession.

Even so, Wolves were able to hold Arsenal to a goalless draw in the first half. The London Cannon were only able to break the deadlock in the 70th minute via Sam Johnstone’s own goal.

Wolves managed to equalize in the 90th minute through Tolu Arokodare’s goal. Yerson Mosquera’s own goal in injury time ensured Arsenal’s 2-1 victory.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta was grateful for the narrow victory over Wolves. He said his team’s efforts were not in vain even though their performance had fluctuated.

“This match is like a roller coaster. The longer the match goes on, the more hopeful they become and we have to improve our game and take more risks,” said Arteta, quoted from BBC.

“In the first half we created a lot of chances without any clear big chances. After scoring, we had a two-minute period where we were defensive and very passive, then we conceded the goal, and it was a very bad goal.”

“We continued to attack and found ways to score goals through Gabi’s cooperation [Jesus] and Bukayo [Saka]and of course we are happy because that is what we wanted,” he said.

This victory confirmed Arsenal’s position at the top of the Premier League standings with 36 points. Bukayo Saka cs is 5 points ahead of Manchester City below him.
