Arenas wants to put the finishing touch to a dream 2025 by adding three more points to its locker that will allow it to go into the Christmas break with good feelings and occupy a more than deserved middle zone of the table. To do this, the red and black team will try to maintain their strength in Gobela in what will be the penultimate match they play in their fiefdom before the mandatory move to Fadura.
Opposite the historic team will be a rival that these days has grabbed headlines and media spaces, since on Wednesday they faced Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey at El Prado, with all that that entails. And it is that circumstance that the entire right bank will try to take advantage of to obtain revenue.
«Going from playing against Real Madrid to playing against Arenas, on a 100×60 artificial grass field… the change is big for them. It’s what facing Real Madrid gives you, feeling, in quotes, an elite footballer for a day. But then you have to return to the land,” says Jon Erice. “Let’s hope that that one percent of confusion they may have will benefit us to get the three points,” he says.
Intensity
Although, probably more than the lack of concentration, what may end up weighing on Talavera is the tremendous wear and tear made in that tie, even more so taking into account how the matches in Gobela usually go: back and forth, continuous presence in the areas, with hardly any respite…
«The key for us is that the match is at the maximum possible pace to know how those minutes of play against Real Madrid are going to take place, with the physical demand that it places on you, which is maximum. Much more than any team in the category can produce,” details the head of the Gobela bench.
“The rise and fall of emotions, the tension until the last minute of the game with that last play that Lunin saves, they can use it positively and it will help them come here with more enthusiasm,” he points out in this same sense. «But what we have to do is set a very high pace from the first minute, in which they cannot stop. And reach the final minutes physically better than them. “It is our goal,” says Erice.
The Arenas coach is confident that this last game of the year in Gobela “will be a nice day for us and achieve three points that send us to the break with a nice situation for us and, for many experts in the field, unexpected in August,” he says, launching a broadside. «We are self-critical people, but at the same time very ambitious and very confident. We believe we can win this game and go into half-time with those three very important points. Winning always gives you another vision of things,” he concludes.
