This Sunday, December 7, under the patronage of the departmental archery committee, the Sévérac-d’Aveyron club received more than a hundred participants representing all age categories from Aveyron clubs and guests from the Chanac and Saint-Chély-d’Apcher clubs. The club organized its first federal competition.

An efficient organization

The support of volunteers, licensees and parents of the archers was necessary to set up the material logistics, i.e. nearly 15 easels, with as many straws and stramits (compressed straw panels) which received on different faces the arrows of the recurve bows, barebow or bare bow and the compounds or compound bows, safety net, trace of the different lines including that of the shooting range at 18 m…

Florent Rozière from Wi-clic.comcompletely new to the rules of archery, treated and piloted Ianseo, server of the competition. “Don’t be afraid, we will get there”he shouted to the stressed organizers. This was actually verified.

Bernard Barascud had asked Jean-Yves Paulhac and his Video Son teammates to film the participants, the shooting range, the arrow reception area, their results, the public and to broadcast them live in the room on large screens and via You Tube with a musical tune.

The young Sévéragais in all this defended their place. In U12 Mathis Granier ranks 2nd. In U 15 Clara Culsan is at the foot of the podium, while Antony Costes is 3rd in front of Pierre Raynal. In U18, Emma Delclite is 4th, one point off the podium. Then follow Gaëlle Père 8th and Élodie Blondel 9th in a group with close results. Finally Basile Gros took 2nd place in the U18 boys bracket. The demanding referees Éric Michenet and Christian Laydier contributed greatly to the success by their support in the meticulous installation of the faces, their management and the conduct of the competition. The club thanks all of its partners.
