Quarterback Arch Manning has decided not to be eligible for the 2026 Goodell Draft. Instead, he will be back behind center for the University of Texas Longhorns.

This is what his father, Cooper Manning, told ESPN on Monday.

The latter is the eldest of Peyton and Eli, who both played quarterback in the NFL. Their father, Archie, also worked as a center in the best football league in the world.

Arch Manning is considered a top prospect, having just completed his first campaign as a starter in the NCAA.

In 12 games so far in 2025, the 6’4″ athlete has completed 61.4% of the passes he has attempted for 2,942 yards and 24 touchdowns. He also rushed for 244 yards and scored eight majors with his legs.

The Longhorns maintained a 5-3 record and will face the University of Michigan Wolverines in the Cheez-it Citrus Bowl on December 31.

At a press conference recently, University of Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian indicated that Arch Manning would benefit from another year in the NCAA.

“He is a young man who has improved throughout the season, not only physically, but also mentally and in terms of maturity,” he said. I think he’ll want another year of this development to put himself in a good position for hopefully a long NFL career. And he still has unfinished business as to what he came here to do and what he came here to accomplish.”
