Antalya Basketball Referee Course | Dates & Application

Turkish Basketball Federation Antalya Youth and Sports Provincial Directorate and Antalya Basketball Provincial Representation are organizing a Basketball Candidate Referee Course on 22-23-24 December in order to find a solution to the increasing match traffic in the city. Antalya Basketball Provincial Representative Soner Yasak stated that the matches in the leagues are increasing day by day this season and said, “While our match intensity has grown, the number of referees has not increased at the same rate. For this reason, we decided to open a new course. Our goal is to bring more referees to Turkish basketball. Everyone who devotes themselves to this job, cares about it and acts with a sense of responsibility will definitely reach good points.” Yasak thanked TBF President Hidayet Türkoğlu, Antalya Governor Hulusi Şahin and Provincial Director Yavuz Gürhan for their support throughout the process.

Application conditions have been announced

Those who want to participate in the course must apply in person to the Antalya Youth and Sports Provincial Directorate with a petition. Candidate referees will officially gain the status of “candidate referee” if they are successful in the exam to be held by the Central Referee Board. Conditions for admission to the course include being a Turkish citizen, graduating from at least a high school or equivalent school, being between the ages of 18 and 30, documenting a health condition suitable for refereeing with a doctor’s report, and not having been punished for a disgraceful crime. In addition, the requirement is not to have been penalized for six months or more by the General Directorate of Youth and Sports or the Federation. The course, which is expected to contribute to the development of basketball in Antalya, offers an important opportunity to train new referees.
