Borussia Dortmund must, at least theoretically, expect an early departure from Aarón Anselmino. How Sky According to reports, Chelsea FC has a previously unknown clause in the loan agreement that allows the Londoners to bring the 20-year-old central defender back in the winter.
The background is an agreed minimum number of playing minutes, which Anselmino was unable to achieve due to a thigh injury. This would mean that the return option for Chelsea could in principle be activated. However, Borussia Dortmund is assuming that the Premier League club will not make use of it.
According to the pay-TV channel, Anselmino himself is also said to have signaled that he would like to stay in Dortmund beyond 2025. After initial injury problems, the Argentine had recently found himself in the back three and was one of the more stable factors in BVB’s defense in recent weeks.
Regardless of the winter clause, the perspective is clear: a permanent commitment beyond the end of the loan is considered very unlikely. There is no purchase option. Anselmino is scheduled to return to Chelsea in the summer. It remains to be seen whether the “Blues” will use their contractually agreed return option in January – but BVB is currently not assuming this.
