At the kick-off of the meeting between Jong Genk and RSCA Futures this Tuesday, in the Challenger Pro League, surprise: the “veteran” of the Anderlecht U23s was indeed Thomas Foket (31 years old), who played his first minutes of the season there.
Foket had never even appeared this season with the core, in the A team or in the Challenger Pro League. His last minutes with Anderlecht dated from last season’s Playoffs and an outing at half-time against Antwerp on May 1.

Foket’s 2024-2025 season had indeed turned into a nightmare with clearly insufficient performances, which had seen him tumble down the hierarchy and be overtaken in particular by Ali Maamar in the full-back position.
This winter, the Red Devil (10 caps) is one of the many players for whom Olivier Renard must find a solution. Having him play with the RSCA Futures should help put him in the spotlight, or at least remind potentially interested clubs of his existence.
Thomas Foket arrived at Anderlecht in August 2024. Over the course of last season, he played 23 matches, delivering 3 assists but completely missed his bet.
