National basketball player Alperen Şengün was among the 10 finalists for the “Athlete of the Year in the Balkans” award, organized for the 52nd time by the Bulgarian News Agency.

Alperen Şengün, who played an important role in the National Men’s Basketball Team winning the silver medal in the 2025 European Championship, was also nominated for the “Athlete of the Year in the Balkans” award determined by the national agencies of the Balkan countries, including Anadolu Agency.

The athlete who won the award will be announced at a ceremony in Bulgaria’s capital, Sofia, on February 16.
