“Soft Game” Criticism from the Coach
Beşiktaş lost 97-95 to Niners Chemnitz in the BKT EuroCup, and the post-match agenda was Head Coach Dusan Alimpijevic’s statements.
“I have to say this about my team, we started the match very softly and slowly today,” Alimpijevic said.
“We didn’t have the right to foul, but we scored”
The issue that Alimpijevic reacted the most to was the tactical fouls that could not be committed. Pointing out that the opponent scored 15-17 points from fast-breaks, the successful coach criticized the defensive weakness in these moments with the following words:
“In most of these points, our foul time had not expired yet, so we could have fouled and stopped the opponent. While we conceded these points, we only had one foul. This is unacceptable for me.”
Emphasizing that the team should urgently increase its defensive toughness, Alimpijevic gave a clear message to his players for the upcoming matches by saying, “We definitely need to be better and tougher.”
Do you agree with Alimpijevic’s criticism that “we started softly”? Is the problem concentration or physical incapacity?
