He is back at Kamratgården.
After three years in Italy, Alexander Jallow returns home – and is ready for a return in the blue and white colors.
– Blåvitt is a club close to my heart and when the chance came to return I really wanted to take it, says the 27-year-old.
He has represented IFK Gothenburg in three-digit number of matches and was part of the team that won the Swedish Cup in 2020.
Three seasons and a total of 78 games with Brescia in the Italian Serie B were enough for the now 27-year-old fullback – who now dons the blue and white match shirt again.
– I have had three really good years abroad that have built on good experience and developed into a better footballer. I have broadened myself a lot, among other things, because I have played in more positions and in different game systems than before.
The contract is written for two years and thus extends over 2027. Sports director Hannes Stiller on the signing:
– Alex knows exactly what it means to play in IFK Gothenburg and just like with all other former players, we have kept an eye on him abroad. We have had several conversations and it was clear right away that both we and Alex were eager to find a solution. We are getting a player who is at a good age, who has experience and who has been in blue and white before.
Brescia went bankrupt this summer and Alexander comes to us on a free transfer. He is looking forward to starting up in early January with the rest of the team.
– I have kept going very well during the autumn and am ready. I’ve heard that it’s going to be really tough in January with the pre-season training and the camps, but I’m really looking forward to it. I have followed Blåvitt when I have been in Italy and I really like the development that has taken place. The game attracts me and what I have heard from the coaches is very exciting.
