The two are in the first two places in the ATP rankings and very regularly confiscate trophies. In 2025, they won every Grand Slam tournament with a perfect tie. Roland-Garros and the US Open for the Spaniard, the Australian Open and Wimbledon for the Italian. Moreover, Alcaraz and Sinner faced each other in three of the four Major finals this season. Proof if any were needed that both players are at the top at the moment.
And in fact, this domination is starting to annoy some. Starting with their opponents, Casper Ruud in the lead. On the sidelines of his entry into the running at UTS in London, the Norwegian spoke about the ongoing supremacy of the two men. “We can debate as much as we want about the different eras, but for me, the fact is that Sinner and Alcaraz hit the ball with more speed than the “Big 3” did, he noted for Tennis 365. We sometimes have the impression of having cornered them in defense, and in a single shot, they are already going back to the attack. It’s really, really impressive and sometimes a little annoying to see how good they’ve become. But we just have to accept it, and it’s up to us to do better to beat them. »
Eight titles in the last two years
For now, Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner seem unbeatable. Moreover, for two years, no Grand Slam title has been awarded to a player other than the Spaniard or the Italian. Proof of undivided domination. “We all said that the day Federer, Nadal and Djokovic were no longer there, new Grand Slam champions would emerge, but that was not the case because of these two,” Ruud almost laughed.
