AIK Football’s operations in Spain
By starting a school collaboration in Spanish Marbella, AIK Football is now, in accordance with the club’s vision, taking new steps towards being an established force in Europe. The purpose of the project is that, through the collaboration with, among others, the Swedish School, it will be possible to offer children and young people who live in Spain the opportunity for football training that is linked to AIK Football’s philosophy and training model.
The operation in Marbella has been started for some time now with football training in which both boys and girls have participated. Through the collaboration with the Swedish School Marbella, the students who participate have the opportunity to conduct their football training on the school’s own fields with trained coaches from Sweden and Spain – all this under AIK Football’s methodology and quality assurance.
At the same time, the project also takes place in close collaboration with La Academia, which provides football pitches and the possibility of hiring their professional football coaches with a Uefa coaching license. The purpose of collaboration is to be able to offer both larger training areas, as well as a more advanced form of training.
The goal is to establish a team operation large enough to be able to participate in Spanish leagues as well as regional and international tournaments in the future. The operations must then be integrated into AIK Football’s existing structure with organizational support from local operations in Spain.
The ambition going forward is that AIK Football will organize football tournaments in Spain during school holidays. These will target both local students and youth players from AIK Youth Football’s operations in Sweden.
