AC Milan No. 9: New Owner Revealed

Milan

AC Milan’s “cursed” number will no longer be empty next year. Because the Rossoneri have just recruited German striker Niclas Fullkrug.

Quoted by Italian Football, Fullkrug is indeed Milan’s target to sharpen their attack line. Throughout the first half of the season, Milan only relied on Christian Pulisic as a goal machine with nine goals, then Rafael Leao with six goals.

Meanwhile, other forward players, such as Santiago Gimenez and Christopher Nkunku, have only scored one goal. That is the reason why Milan is willing to borrow Fullkrug for six months from West Ham United.

Fullkrug has been in Milan since Monday and underwent medical tests last Tuesday (23/12/2025). He even trained with his teammates, Wednesday (24/12).

This is Fullkrug’s momentum to adapt to his new teammates. During the loan period, Milan will pay Fullkrug’s salary in full without any additional costs. There is only a permanent option for around 11-13 million euros.

Fullkrug will be unveiled as a Milan player on January 1 when the winter transfer window opens. He has the potential to make his debut when Milan visits Cagliari headquarters on January 2.

Fullkrug plans to wear the number nine which was last worn by Olivier Giroud in 2023/2024. This number could be said to be a curse number because the wearer often performs badly.

After the Filippo Inzaghi era, number nine users never had a smooth career. Only Giroud can be said to be okay with 49 goals in 132 matches.

With Fullkrug’s poor statistics while at West Ham United, three goals in 1.5 seasons, does the curse continue? Or instead Fullkrug could rise. Let’s just wait.
