Over these five years here, I have identified with the club’s values and principles. For me, Palmeiras is a lifestyle and a way of living and being. I am a project and relationship coach and it was a decision I also made as a family. We talked a lot throughout the year and President Leila always expressed interest in the continuity, stability and consistency of the project. Abel Ferreira.
“After the defeat to Corinthians in the Copa do Brasil, the leader of the project reiterated her confidence in the work and that is difficult to find in today’s football. It was one of the most difficult moments of the season and that left a big impression on me. I preferred not to sign at the time, but I gave my word that we would continue together. A team like Palmeiras only feeds on titles and here inside we know what we want, we know where we are, where we want to go and who we want to go with”, he added.
“It’s the people who make Palmeiras, and we do everything for the club’s soul, which is the fans. I’m where they want me to be, I’m where I want to be, I’m where they value me and I always want to win. I’m sure that the lessons from 2025 will help us a lot to win in 2026, he concluded.”
Abel Ferreira has been at the club since October 2020, and the Portuguese coaching staff is the one with the most consecutive matches in Alviverde history: There are 395 games, 229 wins, 93 draws, 74 defeats, 672 goals scored, 320 goals conceded and ten titles – excluding the games in which he was suspended.
