Return of junior AA baseball to Montmagny
A new baseball team made its debut in Montmagny this summer. The Junior AA Monarques entered the Quebec Region Baseball League, after being crowned grand champions in Junior A under the name of the Vikings.
End of frustrating seasons for our hockey teams
Caron Industries reached the semi-final for the first time in more than 10 years in junior AA. Almost two days after the match, a match in the series was canceled, thus taking away a point from the Magnymont team which finally gave up in front of the Expert from Saint-Romuald. On the Junior AAA side, L’Everest de la Côte-du-Sud finished in the quarter-finals against Indigo de Granby in the final 7th match. However, a referee’s decision to award a penalty shot during overtime was widely criticized by local fans. In both cases, the series got people talking a lot on social networks.
Florence Labbé is the pride of Lavironde
Runner Florence Labbé from the Lavironde Athletics Club won silver in the 1500 meters at the Canadian U20 Championship in Toronto with a time of 4:48. With this brand, Florence Labbé marked the history of Club Lavironde.
Magny-Gym hosts the provincial cup
For the first time in its history, the Magny-Gym club hosted the provincial gymnastics cup which was held at the Montmagny arena. Several hundred gymnasts, coaches and judges from across the province took part in the competition.
Everest hosts the repechage
Everest de la Côte-du-Sud hosted the draft of the Quebec Junior AAA Hockey League (LHJAAAQ) and the organization took the opportunity to announce the appointment of its new captain, Tommy Bouchard, who proceeded to call the selection of the 11th overall pick in the first round, Thomas Morin. A summer volleyball camp, under the initiative of three enthusiasts
64 young people from the region will participate in the very first Montmagny Summer Volleyball Camp, organized by Maud Parent, Chloé Boulet and Léanne Gendron. Offered from July 7 to 11 for 12-13 year olds and from July 14 to 18 for 14-15 year olds, the camp will offer a program focused on the basics and techniques of the sport, while reserving a few surprises for young athletes.

Two natives of L’Isle-aux-Grues take the road of sports studies in the United States
Raphaël and Abigaël Poulin, 16 and 18 years old, will head to the United States in August to pursue their sporting ambitions. A new hockey training center for adults and children
Hockey fans will have a new meeting point in Saint-Jean-Port-Joli with the opening of the L’Arcade sports center, scheduled for August 22. Two Magnymontois runners stand out on the national scene

A dream season ends with a defeat at the Bol d’Or
The dream season of the Gaulois de La Pocatière Football did not end the way they would have liked. After 10 consecutive victories, the Pocatois team lost in the very last match, in the Bol d’Or final. It was the Griffons de l’Outaouais who had the upper hand 35-11. With an almost perfect season, the team, which plays in collegiate division 3, was notably led by athletes from the Côte-du-Sud.
The match of a lifetime for Noah Woodard
Thanks to his seven-goal performance in the Sunday, November 23 game against the Montreal Phoenix, including five in the space of 13 minutes in the first period, Noah Woodard broke the franchise record for the fastest five goals scored by the same player and he tied the number of goals in an LHJAAAQ game with seven.
