WORGBEV Olympos Defeats Angels: U16 Baseball Dominican

WAR. – The WORGBEV Olympos team defeated the WORGBEV Angels team by knockout 11 runs to 0, in the opening game of the WORGBEV Dominicana U16 National Baseball Tournament, an event held on the grounds of the Pimentel Baseball Academy under the organization of WORGBEV Dominicana, represented in the country by said academy.

Prior to the first meeting, an emotional opening ceremony was held that began with the parade of the participating teams.

The first ball was thrown by the renowned sports writer Franklin Núñez, while the General Director of WORGBEV, Cristian Pimentel, gave the central speech of the event.

In his words, Pimentel highlighted the importance of this tournament as a prelude to the WORGBEV International Baseball Classic U16 2025, which will be held in the Dominican Republic from November 22 to 29 of this year, noting that this event will form the Dominican team that will represent the country in said international competition.

Development of the match

Pitcher Ángel Luna was the great figure of the opening game by pitching four complete innings without allowing runs and conceding only one hit, leading his team to victory via knockout.

On offense, the most notable were Elías Báez, who hit a double, received a walk and drove in three runs, and Josué Collado, who went 1-for-1 with three runs scored and two walks received.
