Vinicius Junior apparently he has informed the President Real Madrid Florentino Perez said he would not extend his contract while it was still in effect Xabi Alonso in the coach’s seat. The two are reportedly still involved in friction.
The Athletic reported that Vinicius said this after apologizing to Perez following his disgraceful action because he got angry when he was substituted in the match against Barcelona at the end of last month. He feels that signing a new contract is not the best option at this time.
Since then, Vinicius’ position has not changed. His contract will expire in the summer of 2027 and Madrid have offered a new contract worth 20 million Euros per season from the start of 2025, but Vinicius is asking for more. Since then discussions have stopped.

Vinicius’ attitude from the outside looks like a tactic in contract negotiations to get Madrid to increase the offer value, but sources who know this say that Vinicius thinks it makes no sense to continue staying at Madrid while his relationship with Alonso is not good.
The tension between Vinicius and Alonso is thought to have started since the 2025 Club World Cup last July. In the semifinal match against Paris Saint-Germain, Alonso intended to substitute Vinicius, but it was canceled because Trent Alexander-Arnold was injured.
Even so, Alonso installed Vinicius on the right instead of as a left winger which is his favorite position. Since then, Vinicius has appeared 17 times with Madrid, but only played the full 90 minutes five times and came on four times as a substitute.
Vinicius believes Alonso has not been fair to him. The Brazilian player did not mention Alonso in his written apology after his bad behavior in El Clasico, even though Alonso was present when Vinicius apologized directly to his teammates at Madrid’s training base.
People close to Vinicius claim that he deliberately did not mention Alonso’s name. This maneuver surprised the Madrid coaching staff.
Alonso himself said that his relationship with Vinicius was fine personally and that Vinicius’ rotation was a necessity for the team. Even so, he also seemed nervous about the ongoing drama.
