Tyrolean Judo Championship: East Tyrolean Victory!

East Tyrolean judokas showcased their dominance, clinching championship titles in both teh general and U14 categories at the recent Tyrolean Team Championships held on November 23rd. the Matreier Tauerncenter buzzed with energy as mixed teams battled for supremacy.

The Matreier Tauerncenter was transformed into a judo battleground on Sunday,November 23rd,for the highly anticipated Tyrolean Team Championships. This year’s event featured a dynamic mixed-team format for both the U14 age group and the general class, with four formidable teams competing in each division.

In the U14 division, the East Tyrolean junior team delivered a stellar performance, demonstrating exceptional teamwork and individual skill. Nika Popeller and Maria Sharova were standout performers, each racking up an impressive three victories.Amely Rainer, Philipp Mattersberger, and Noah Brunner contributed significantly with two wins apiece, while Matthias Gsaller, Matteo Nussbaumer, and Mia Riepler each added a crucial win to the team’s tally.This unified effort and collective scoring power ultimately propelled the East Tyrolean judoka to the championship title in their age group.

The general class competition was equally intense, featuring two strong teams from Union Raika Osttirol, the Innsbruck Judo Center, and JC Fieberbrunn. The defending champions, Union Raika AK 1, lived up to their billing, confirming their favorite status with a total of 14 wins across the encounters. Their consistent performance and strategic execution secured them the championship title. The athletes from Union Raika AK 2 fought valiantly,earning the silver medal in a hard-fought contest.
