Trump was mostly booed, although there was also some applause. Minutes earlier, his plane, Air Force One, flying from Florida to Washington, had made a low-altitude flyover over the stadium, also met with boos.
“Was it the best flyover in history? No one has done one like it. They are the best pilots in the world. They say whoever pilots Air Force One is the best, and that’s just what we just saw. It was incredible,” Trump said after landing.

At halftime, Trump participated in a military ceremony and was booed for the third time. Trump’s presence at the game coincides with information revealed by ESPN that the president wants the new stadium that the Commanders are building in Washington to be named after him.

In his second term, Trump has been a regular at sporting events, something that is not common among American leaders.
Trump is especially unpopular in the Washington area, which votes overwhelmingly Democratic and has been hit by massive government layoffs and the current administrative shutdown that has now lasted more than a month.
