STVV Player Rules Out Antwerp Move | Football News

Ilias Sebaoui came over from Feyenoord to STVV this summer. The Antwerp native has a past with Beerschot and so there are a number of things in his football future that have already been determined. It turns out that he will never play for Royal Antwerp FC.

STVV bought Ilias Sebaoui for one million euros from Feyenoord according to Transfermarkt, even though the player has a market value of 1.5 million euros.

STVV player Sebaoui is a youth product of Beerschot

This season he already scored one goal and one assist in fourteen games for STVV. Last season Feyenoord loaned him to Heerenveen, in the past he also played for Dordrecht and Beerschot, among others.

The youth product of De Mannekes – with an intermediate step at Waasland-Beveren – is a real Antwerpian. And so he will never play for Antwerp, as a supporter of Beerschot. He knows the derby atmosphere best.

Ant subjects did already show interest in Ilias Sebaoui

“If Antwerp calls? Never in my life. As a Beerschot man, that is really unthinkable. Antwerp was once interested, but the rivalry between the two clubs is enormous,” he is clear on the STVV website.

“I have experienced one derby. We lost 2-1, but I became ‘man of the match’. That was my best match ever and I have a nice memory of it. Of course I want to do it again here at STVV … and preferably win.”
